Hallway is an open source event registration and social networking tool. It's based on software written by MikeMell? originally for the Planetwork 2004 Conference. (2T)
Why "Hallway"? People often say that the best conversations they have at conferences is in the hallway, outside of the main event. Continuing those conversations after an event can be challenging, partially because it's tough remembering who's who. Hallway's social networking feature allows you to browse through event attendee profiles and pictures. More importantly, individuals retain control over their information in the system, thanks to IdentityCommons. Hallway is one of the first applications designed from the ground-up to take advantage of IdentityCommons's privacy, SingleSignOn, and DataSharing? capabilities. See HallwayBenefits for more details. If you're interested in using the software, but not running it yourself, BlueOxenAssociates? will offer event registration and social networking using Hallway. Contact EugeneEricKim for more information. (2S)
